It was thought Sue Gray's report into the alleged lockdown-busting parties held in Downing Street and Whitehall would be released on Wednesday.

But it never materialised and the waiting will continue on Thursday.

In the meantime, MPs took the delay as an opportunity to publicly pledge their support for their beleaguered leader Boris Johnson as he told the Commons he would not resign.
