It’s a mixture of herbs and opium sourced from Southeast Asia’s notorious Golden Triangle, and police in China say it has become the drug of choice among the rich and educated in Yunnan province. Police recently released details of a nine-month long raid on drug dens, manufacturing sites and transport networks in Yunnan that led to the arrest of 36 people and the seizure of nearly 30kg (66lbs) of kaku, a drug made up of shredded herbs and opium.
