US politicians announce they will boycott the Winter Olympics in China in 2022

The United States has announced that it will not send any official delegate to the winter Olympics in China next year.

China reacted with anger when President Joe Biden's administration said it supported the efforts of US athletes, but would not support the event given the alleged treatment of the Uyghurs in western China.
