When Queen Elizabeth marked 60 years on the throne in 2012, Canada minted 60,000 Diamond Jubilee Medals awarded to people from all walks of life for their exceptional service to their community and their country.
Next year is the Platinum Jubilee, where the Queen will celebrate a remarkable 70 years on the Throne.
Now, there are calls to bestow the country's COVID-19 pandemic front-line workers who have gone above and beyond with the royal recognition. But as David Akin explains, Ottawa has no plans for more medals.
