Tim Clissold first noticed the potential of China after traveling through the country in the 1980s. He was impressed by the active and striving Chinese people who worked at the vegetables market at 4:00 in the morning. Not only did he live in China for over 30 years and write three books about China, but his understanding of Chinese poetry and history is also quite profound too. China's ancient poetry still speaks to the modern world, says Tim.
