Francis led Catholics at Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI's funeral in the unprecedented occasion of one Pope presiding over the burial of another. Francis said Benedict was 'a fearless preacher' in a speech he delivered paying tribute to the former pope. Crowds applauded as Benedict's coffin was taken away, calling for him to be sainted. Benedict died aged 95 on Saturday, after falling ill, bringing an end to a period where two popes were alive at the same time.
