Canadian Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre is expected to hold a media availability on Tuesday to discuss what the Conservative Party is calling the "McKinsey scandal."

McKinsey & Company is a large international consulting firm that has been the subject of controversy in the past. The company has faced criticism for it's role in promoting the opioid Oxycontin, for working with American energy company Enron, and for partnering with international governments seen as controversial, including the regime in Saudi Arabia.

According to recent media reports, the amount of money awarded to companies partnered with or represented by McKinsey has risen sharply under the Justin Trudeau administration vs. what had been spent during the previous administration of Stephen Harper.

Some critics have raised concerns that this private firm has ample influence within the federal public service.
