Steve Barclay gets stern telling-off by mother of sick child, 'NHS staff being worked to the bone'
Telegraph, 19 Dec 2022
A mother of a three-year-old girl suffering from cystic fibrosis rebuked Steve Barclay over NHS staff working conditions as he visited King’s University Hospital in south east London on Monday.
After speaking to the Health Secretary by her daughter Lucy’s hospital bed, Sarah Pinnington-Auld told the PA news agency: “I wanted to make it clear that the NHS staff are absolutely amazing.
“They’re so hard-working and incredible and are doing an absolutely brilliant job under such intense pressures as underfunding and understaffing.”
