Winter storm hits Long Island with coastal flooding in U.S.

A large winter storm carrying inches of snow and rain caused coastal flooding on Long Island, New York, on December 16, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.
The heavy, wet snow led to power outages, school closures and community event cancellations across the area.
