The Winnipeg Police Service are expected to hold a media conference on Thursday.

Chief Danny Smyth will provide an update regarding an ongoing homicide investigation with additional victims who have now been identified. Jeremy Skibicki, previously charged with first degree murder, has now been charged with these additional murders.

Chief Danny Smyth, Major Crimes Division Inspector Shawn Pike and Mayor Scott Gillingham will be in attendance at the press conference.

Back in May 2022, police were called to the 200 block of Edison Avenue shortly for the reports of what they’ve previously called “suspicious circumstances.” Police spokesperson Const. Rob Carver identified the victim as Rebecca Contois, 24.
