US President Joe Biden has underscored Washington’s support for Ukraine with an additional US$53 million in aid to support the country’s energy infrastructure. Biden announced the pledge during a call with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky on December 11, 2022. Russia has targeted Ukraine’s power infrastructure with drone strikes over the last three months, leaving millions without heat, power and water in bitter winter weather.
