Clinical trials into the efficacy of magic mushrooms in treating mental illness are underway across Canada.

Before those trials, several Canadians were given exemptions to receive such treatment. Many say it did wonders for their anxiety and depression.

But now the government is moving away from those exemptions, making it difficult for patients to access psilocybin — while those who use it recreationally are finding it easier to do so.
