President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday is expected to attend the football match between Nantes and Toulouse. He will not however, for the first time, go down to the pitch to meet players to avoid booing from protestors who are waiting to greet him with red cards and whistles at the stadium. Social tensions are at an all-time high in France after Macron forced through the government's unpopular pension reform bill without a parliamentary vote in March.
