New York City Mayor Eric Adams is expected to give an update on Tuesday regarding ongoing investigations after multiple people were fatally poisoned with narcotics in what authorities say were schemes by criminal gangs to incapacitate and rob people at the city's bars and nightclubs.

According to reports, the crimes date back to 2022 and have seen more than 40 drug-facilitated thefts.

Several people have been taken into custody over the crimes, with police still investigating other possible suspects.
