As Sudan's military and political forces strive to resolve the months-long political crisis, huge social and economic challenges hinder the country's development. China has been at the forefront of support to the country, either directly or through multilateral and regional institutions. In this edition of The Hub, Xu Qinduo sits in for Wang Guan and talks to Ali Al-Sadiq, Sudan's foreign minister, representing the chairman of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, to discuss China-Sudan friendship and look at how the Belt and Road Initiative and China's Global Development Initiative can provide the necessary impetus toward Sudan's recovery. Al-Sadiq is also confident that his country will find a political solution to its current plight through dialogue and wisdom, and make use of its abundant natural resources to become the world's breadbasket.
