An American professor from the University of South Florida broke the record for the longest underwater habitation without depressurisation on May 13, 2023. Joseph Dituri has spent 74 days so far living in a lodge situated at the bottom of a lagoon in Key Largo. He plans to resurface only after reaching the 100-day mark.
