Pakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan was shot in the leg after at least one gunman opened fire on his convoy on November 3, 2022. Four other people were injured. Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party released the confession made by the suspected gunman, who was arrested at the scene. Before what his aides called “an assassination attempt”, Khan was leading protesters marching towards Islamabad to call on the government to hold early elections.
