The convoy of the Senegalese opponent, Ousmane Sonko, leaves his home for the courthouse in Dakar where he has been summoned for a hearing. Sonko, who is a candidate for the presidential election of 2024, has been under indictment for the alleged rape of an employee of a beauty salon where he went to get a massage, since 2021. He has said that this case is politically motivated and a "trap" instigated by President Macky Sall to extend his premiership for a third term.
