Residents in the northwestern Chinese city of Lanzhou have blamed authorities over the recent death of a toddler during a Covid lockdown. The incident happened in the Qilihe district in Gansu province on November 1, 2022, when the father of a three-year-old boy was unable to get emergency help for his unconscious son. The case sparked outrage among residents, who came out to vent their anger. It’s the latest case of China’s strict enforcement of Covid rules that have kept the seriously ill from getting urgent help.
