The month of November 2022 will be remembered as a crucial moment for multilateralism. From the East Asia Summit, to the G20 Summit, and the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, leaders from politics, business and international and regional organizations all vociferously sought to speed up economic recovery through cooperation. As these events all took place in Asia, Asia's attitude towards global governance and rebuilding trust has been recognized by all. CGTN's Tian Wei spoke to Danilo Türk, who is now President of Club de Madrid, an organization of retired political leaders from all over the world. Mr. Türk himself also served as the President of Slovenia, and worked in the UN for years. Tian Wei asked him what it takes to focus on long-term goals and statesmanship rather than getting bogged down by immediate gains and politics.
