Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly unveils Canada's Indo-Pacific strategy | LIVE

Federal Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly will unveil Canada's new Indo-Pacific strategy on Sunday, alongside other federal ministers.

Earlier in November, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the Liberal government's long-promised Indo-Pacific strategy would include new investments to strengthen the role of the Canadian Armed Forces in the region.

He also pledged nearly $183 million in new funding over five years to strengthen ties to the region. It would include $92.5 million to create about 60 new jobs, both at Canada's missions in the region and Global Affairs Canada.
