Thousands of protesters marched outside Israel's parliament building against a bill that would give politicians more power in appointing judges.

Opposition MPs shouted and banged their fists in protest before a committee vote to send the bill to the full parliament for a vote.

The bill proposed by Benjamin Netanyahu's government proposes changes to the judiciary that would weaken country's supreme court.
