North Korea tests more missiles, says US forces pushing it to use Pacific as ‘firing range’

North Korea launched two more projectiles on February 20, 2023, two days after the reclusive state fired a Hwasong-15 missile. Japan said it tracked what appeared to be ballistic missiles. Following the earlier launch, Pyongyang’s first intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) test of the year, South Korean and Japanese forces conducted combined air drills with their US counterparts. Although forbidden from testing new missiles by the United Nations, North Korea has often cited US military presence on the Korean peninsula as a reason for conducting such launches.
