A three-day walkout by junior doctors this week caused 175,000 appointment cancellations and disruption to procedures.

That makes it the most disruptive action of the NHS strikes so far.

Some NHS unions advised their members this week to accept a revised 5% pay offer – but junior doctors were not included in that deal.

Passport Office and Heathrow security staff are now the latest group of workers to announce new walkouts, with Easter holiday travel set to be disrupted.
