First undersea subway line in NE China enters operation

After six years of construction, Dalian Subway Line 5, the first undersea subway line in northeast China, officially entered operation on March 17. Line 5 runs for 24.48 kilometers between Hutan Xinqu Station in the south and Houguan Station in the north. It will shorten total commuting time from nearly two hours to just 40 minutes.
