The committee was reviewing controversial changes to Israel's judicial system proposing by the country's right-wing coalition. During a turbulent session of the committee two Knesset members were hauled out as they protested the bill, with one shouting 'you are a shame' at Rotman on her way out.

The disruptions in the Knesset committee came a day after large scale protests across Israel after prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired his defence minister who criticised the proposed judicial changes.
