The strength and sacrifice of Ukrainian women on International Women's Day

War changes everything, and when it happens almost overnight as it has in Russia's invasion of Ukraine, everyone – men, women and children – must immediately adapt.

But as many Ukrainians are stepping up to defend their country against Russia, the courage and power of Ukrainian women are also being celebrated on the International Women's Day.

From those making great sacrifices amid hardship, to those stepping to the front lines. Heather Yourex-West has some of their stories.
