The Foreign Secretary gave a speech at a news conference after landing in Ukraine.

Speaking at the press conference, Liz Truss again called on Russia to "de-escalate".

"Russia must think again...There is currently no evidence their forces are withdrawing and we need Russia to step back from the brink, they must choose the path of diplomacy," she said

Giving a prepared statement following the press conference, Liz Truss emphasised the UK stands "shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine".

"We stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine. Despite Russia's claims, the military build up shows no sign of slowing down," she said.

"I say to Russia, now is the time to de-escalate."
