After being arrested in February over drug smuggling allegations, Russia is now extending the detention of U.S. basketball player Brittney Griner.

It's unclear exactly when Griner was arrested, but it was first reported last month as tensions between the Kremlin and the West escalated in the run-up to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Video was released of Griner at the Moscow airport having her bags searched by federal agents.

They say they found vape cartridges containing hash oil - an offense that could carry a 10-year prison sentence in Russia.

As Mike Drolet reports, fears are growing Griner is caught in a political battle between Moscow and Washington.
