Could the Russia-Ukraine conflict accelerate the shift to green energy?

The crisis in Ukraine has forced Western countries to reevaluate their reliance on Russian energy.

In the midst of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, global gas prices have soared above $100 a barrel for the first time since 2014. Moreover, on the heels of the U.S. ban on Russian oil, Moscow warned that a European ban could lead to an unpredictable price surge.

Anne Gaviola explains how the crisis is prompting warnings from environmental activists about the need to turn away from oil and gas.
