Canada imposes 35% tariffs on goods from Russia, Belarus over Ukraine war | FULL

Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland is expected to provide an update Thursday on the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine and how Canada is responding.
She will be joined by Defence Minister Anita Anand and Immigration Minister Sean Fraser.
The update comes after Canada joined 140 other member nations in the United Nations General Assembly in voting in favour of a resolution to reprimand Russia over its invasion of Ukraine and demand Moscow stop fighting and withdraw its military forces.
While the resolution is non-binding, the overwhelming vote represents a symbolic victory for Ukraine and increases Moscow's international isolation. While China abstained from the vote, along with 34 other nations, Russia's traditional ally Serbia voted in favour.
International Development Minister Harjit Sajjan announced Tuesday that Canada would be sending $100 million in additional humanitarian aid for Ukraine and those fleeing the violence. He said the aid would go towards shelter, water, sanitation and food assistance.
Anand also announced that Canada would be sending 1,600 fragmentation vests and just under 400,000 individual meal kits to Ukraine as part of the country's ongoing support for the country in both lethal and non-lethal aid.
