Alberta's chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw will be joined by Health Minister Jason Copping to provide and update on COVID-19 in the province Tuesday.

Monday marked an important step in the province's phased approach to removing COVID-19 health measures as children under 12 are no longer mandated to wear masks in public.

Meanwhile, the province announced that there were 1,528 patients in hospital with COVID-19, with 124 of those patients were in ICU.

Thirty-five additional deaths were recorded over the weekend, and 3,776 Albertans in total have died with COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
