Huge tornado-like waterspout appears off the coast of Ostia near Rome

A massive waterspout appeared off the coast of Ostia near Rome on Thursday (December 9) afternoon.
A video uploaded on social media shows the phenomenon - a whirlwind over water - reaching from the surface of the sea into the clouds before dissipating. Local media reported it lasted for about 15 minutes.
Eyewitnesses reported a second minor waterspout shortly afterwards before strong winds, hail and rain hit the region.
