CA, 16 Dec 2021
Alberta premier Jason Kenney and health minister Jason Copping will join chief medical officer of health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, for an update on COVID-19 in the province and public health measures heading into the holiday season.

This COVID-19 update was postponed from Tuesday after the prime minister scheduled a call with all premiers to discuss the Omicron variant of COVID-19.

In addition, Albertans are expected to learn more about receiving a free rapid test kit ahead of the holidays and when that will roll out during Tuesday's news conference.

On Dec. 13, Alberta reported 863 new cases of COVID-19 over the previous three days out of more than 19,000 tests. There are 357 people in hospital with COVID-19, 68 of whom are in ICU.
