French basketball's All Star Game has survived the tightened new Covid-19 restrictions, playing on in front of 16,000 spectators in Paris, as the country registered a new daily record of more than 200,000 cases amid the Omicron surge. "We are lucky, very very lucky, given the events of these last weeks," says attendee Magali Ladeuil, who travelled with her family from southwest France, of the game not being cancelled.
