A crocodile that swims in the rivers of Palu in Indonesia has finally been rescued from a fate of living with a tyre stuck around its neck. Local people first spotted the hapless reptile in 2016, but all previous attempts to trap the animal and remove the tyre have failed. Six years went by before Tili, a birdcatcher and trader who was new to the area, heard about the creature’s predicament and managed to track, capture and help the animal on February 7, 2022.
