The Metropolitan police commissioner Cressida Dick has said the details of Sarah Everard's murder has shaken her to her core.

Former Met police office Wayne Couzens has been given a whole-life sentence for the kidnap, rape and murder of 33-year-old Sarah Everard. The judge handed the relatively rare sentence based on the abuse of his position as a police officer, which he used to coerce Everard into compliance. On the night of the murder, Couzens stopped Everard in the street and staged a false arrest and handcuffing her, before driving away.
