Boris Johnson has apologised to MPs over his "partygate" fine, telling MPs it has given him an 'even greater sense of obligation' to deliver for the British people.
The address was met with dismay and anger from MPs, with Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer responding to Boris Johnson's statement by telling the Commons: "What a joke."
The Labour leader accused Mr Johnson of coming forward with a "new set of deflections and distortions".
He added: "The damage is already done, the public have made up their mind, they don't believe a word the Prime Minister says, they know what he is."
