Emergency crews attended to a blaze on Friday evening, after a fire engulfed a four-storey commercial building in the Indian capital.

At least 27 people were killed and several others were injured. Dozens of people were rescued from the building, which contains mainly shops, according to the fire service.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. The casualties occurred on the second floor of the building, where inflammable plastic material used for manufacturing equipment like security cameras was stored.
