Canadian Defence Minister Anita Anand will hold a joint press conference with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on Thursday at the Pentagon in Washington, DC after meetings with Austin and other Canadian and U.S. officials.

While in Washington, D.C., Anand spoke with diplomats and members of the U.S. Congress about enhanced continental and global Allied cooperation.

The meetings come as Russia's offensive in eastern Ukraine has picked up momentum, with several towns coming under intense attack, according to Ukraine officials.
