Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to make a long-term care announcement in Saskatchewan on Wednesday and hold a media availability during his trip to the province.

On Tuesday in B.C., the prime minister reiterated his government's housing strategy, previously outlined in the most recent federal budget.

When asked about the long lineups and backlog for passport applications and renewals across Canada, Trudeau told reporters on Tuesday that his government has already started taking action. He alleges that the hiring process of 500 new passport workers began last December or January to address an impending backlog as global economies continue to open up following the pandemic.
