Forty-year-old Gadak Tso is a Tibetan herder living in Nyanpo Yuzee, a region on the eastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. She's one of 16 volunteer wardens, most of them women, who have taken on the responsibility of protecting the region's black-necked cranes.
