Storm Fiona: Nova Scotia officials provide update on damage and recovery efforts | LIVE

CA, 25 Sep 2022
Officials in Nova Scotia are expected to provide a second Sunday update on post-tropical storm Fiona's impact on the province, providing details on both the damages and recovery efforts in its wake.

Jason Mew, director of the incident management division of the Nova Scotia Emergency Management Office, will be joined by Matt Drover, storm lead for Nova Scotia Power, as well as Christine Lamey, the communications and information officer for Cape Breton Regional Municipality.

Bell's director of network operations Geoff Moore, Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency's assistant chief for emergency management Erica Fleck, and Canadian Red Cross' director of government relations Bill Lawlor will also be in attendance.

Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston, along with several members of his cabinet, paid a visit to some of the hardest hit areas of Cape Breton, N.S., by helicopter on Sunday. As the government officials were focused on surveying the full scope of the damage left behind, Environment Canada said the storm will continue to weaken as it tracks across southeastern Labrador and over the Labrador Sea, moving inland in southeastern Quebec.
