Officials are expected to provide an update on Tuesday after the body of five-year-old Frank Young, who had been missing since April, was found this weekend.

On Saturday, the emergency response coordinator for Red Earth Cree Nation Allistair Nawakayas confirmed the search was over. Chief Fabian Head also confirmed the news early Sunday morning.

"It is with a heavy heart that I announce the discovery of Frank Young on Saturday, July 9th. His remains were found in the water at Red Earth Cree Nation," he wrote in a Facebook post.

RCMP from Carrot River, Sask., shared Sunday that they had received a report of Young being located deceased in a river, near the area he was originally reported missing back on April 19. They said there was no current indication of suspicious circumstance, however, further investigative steps would be taken.

Young's family has been notified.
