Afghanistan earthquake: Rescuers dig by hand for survivors

Sky, 25 Jun 2022
At least 1,000 people have been killed and more than 1,500 injured after a powerful earthquake struck a rural, mountainous area of Afghanistan.

Rescuers have resorted to digging by hand to search for survivors in villages raised to the ground, amid confusion over international aid requests.

While the Taliban government says it has asked for international assistance, the US maintains that it has not received any official communication.
