Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau are expected to participate in the Inaugural Ceremony of the Summit of the Americas on Wednesday, hosted by U.S. President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden.

Leading up to the event, Trudeau and Defence Minister Anita Anand toured the fortified command centre of Cheyenne Mountain Complex on Tuesday evening, which houses part of NORAD, the joint-command continental defence system.

Trudeau will also be meeting with Barbados counterpart Mia Mottley, attending a roundtable meeting with Latin American and Caribbean leaders and talking with Shilpan Amin, the president of General Motors International prior to the ceremony.

Hosted in Los Angeles, California, the ninth international summit meeting of its kind has its focus on “Building a Sustainable, Resilient, and Equitable Future,” bringing together leaders of the Organization of the American States (OAS).
