Dramatic drone footage captures a huge paper recycling fire at the Smurfit Kappa Recycling compound on Mount Street in the Nechells area in Birmingham, England on Sunday, June 12.
Over 100 firefighters have been dispatched to tackle the blaze. The West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) has deployed 20 appliances, including two aerial hydraulic platforms, multiple fire engines and a high-volume water pumping unit. The incident involves 8,000 tonnes of paper and cardboard bales at a warehouse.
The WMFS is working closely with police and ambulance colleagues, the environmental agency, Severn Trent Water, and on-site staff to bring the incident to a safe conclusion. It's expected that crews will be working throughout the night.
