The foreign ministers of G7 nations called on China on Wednesday to resolve tensions around the Taiwan Straits in a peaceful manner. China has blasted the statement, saying it exposes the "hypocrisy and ugliness" of their governments. Vice President of the China Institute of International Studies Rong Ying said Nancy Pelosi's performance proved the extremely confrontational and harmful nature of the U.S'.s "Indo-Pacific strategy," as well as its hypocrisy and double standards when dealing with international rules. China's military drills are to resolutely defend the country's national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
